India is yet to be officially notified of Sri Lanka’s new development – shelving of the Sampur Coal Power Plant Project, they undertook a long time ago after signing several MoUs pertaining to it. After the Supreme Court was informed yesterday, by the Attorney General, that the Ministry of Power and Energy will shelve the proposed coal power plant, that was offered to India a long time ago, Esha Srivastava, Spokesperson for the Indian High Commission, told Ceylon Today “there were several discussions held on the matter and still there could be more discussions held on it.”READ MORE…
