Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)
is one of the major health problem in Sri Lanka. It has been spread into several district and NCP has become more vulnarable to this disease. Lack of clean drinking water and extensive use of low quality fertilisers are regarded as major factors in CKD. Fomer General Manager (CEB), Mr. Wickramasekara and few engineers in CEB have started a water project for providing clean water to villages in NCP. In order to continue this project, a fund raising program by way of selling CEB ties & accessaries will be launched at 1.00 pm on 3rd February 2017 at RCL. Your participation is highly appreciated.

Private power augments dwindling hydropower as drought worsens
As Sri Lanka enters a period of prolonged drought, the strain on the country’s electricity grid continues to mount. Authorities, alarmed at the rapidly worsening situation, announced a variety of measures throughout the past week, aimed at conserving electricity and connecting more power to the national grid.
With the capacity of hydropower reservoirs at 32.8%, and water levels at all of its reservoirs below 50%, the Ministry of Mahaweli Development and Environment this week stressed that providing water for drinking and for farmers to protect their crops, would take precedence over releasing water for electricity generation. CEB engineers oppose China power plant in H’tota
“How can politicians or businessmen do planning of electricity generation and transmission,” a spokesman for the Ceylon Electricity Board Engineers’ Union (CEBEU) said. “It is a professional job which should be done by qualified and trained energy planners.
